The Murals of Bloomington — Photos and Trail Map

Murals provide “a splash of color” in downtown Bloomington during the winter when most natural color has gone dormant, writes M.J. Bower. She photographed more than 30 local murals for this photo essay on an art form that has existed since prehistoric cave paintings. Science Sprouts Place Opens at WonderLab by Niha Alasapuri, WonderLab

WonderLab is opening a new exhibit area for early-childhood development, called Science Sprouts Place, with a grand opening on Saturday, October 5. The new interactive space is designed specifically for children from birth through age 3 and their caregivers. Science Sprouts Place includes programs and activities to help infants and toddlers develop fundamental skills, as well as resources to help new parents and caregivers with the early-learning development of their child. On May 9 at WonderLab, the inaugural event for the IU Arts & Humanities Council’s Granfalloon festival will be WonderLab After Dark: The Science of Vonnegut. Hoosier writer Kurt Vonnegut was “one of the most prolific science fiction writers of the 20th Century,” says Sarah Wells, WonderLab’s education specialist, so this event explores the science that the fiction is based in. WonderLab’s Science Shows Hit the Road, Wowing Audiences Young and Old

Eclipse 2017! Where It Lands Near Bloomington

On August 21, the moon will totally eclipse the sun, sending umbral shade across America from west to east.
