Limestone Post Begins 2nd Year As Nonprofit

Although Limestone Post Magazine launched in 2015, this month we’re celebrating our one-year anniversary as a nonprofit! What a year. Despite the challenges, we’ve continued publishing important stories and have made progress in other significant ways. We’re carrying that momentum into 2021 with renewed hope and enthusiasm. Science Sprouts Place Opens at WonderLab by Niha Alasapuri, WonderLab

WonderLab is opening a new exhibit area for early-childhood development, called Science Sprouts Place, with a grand opening on Saturday, October 5. The new interactive space is designed specifically for children from birth through age 3 and their caregivers. Science Sprouts Place includes programs and activities to help infants and toddlers develop fundamental skills, as well as resources to help new parents and caregivers with the early-learning development of their child. The Granfalloon: A Festival of Music, Literature, and Art, Inspired By Kurt Vonnegut by Julie Warren

Hoosier author Kurt Vonnegut Jr. was an astute observer of people, culture, and communities. He has also inspired the Granfalloon festival, a multi-day celebration of art, ideas, and building connections between people. Organized by the IU Arts and Humanities Council, the second annual Granfalloon features music, academic panels, and creative activities to connect the campus and the community. What Do Babies Know? IU Scientists Say ‘More Than You Think’

Researchers of infant development at IU say we — and artificial intelligence — can learn a lot from babies. And some have teamed up with the staff at WonderLab to create exhibits and activities tailor-made for young patrons, writes Jennifer Richler. Science for Grown-ups: Indulge in the Study of Chocolate at WonderLab After Dark by Harper Humphrey, WonderLab Museum

WonderLab After Dark: Chocolate! On February 17th, WonderLab Museum of Science, Health and Technology is open late for a 21-and-over event featuring local libations, food, and, of course, chocolate. Visitors can also explore the science and history of this coveted treat, as well as WonderLab’s other hands-on exhibits.
