We’re participating in NewsMatch, a collaborative fundraising movement that will match your new monthly donation 12 times or double your one-time gift, up to $1,000 per donor! NewsMatch supports #nonprofitnews magazines like ours because for-profit corporate media have dramatically cut local news coverage.
Limestone Post publishes local stories for people, not for profit. You can donate here to help us reach our goal and support local, nonprofit, nonpartisan journalism!
Most of our financial support comes from readers like you, which helps us to maintain our editorial independence. Our long-form, public-service journalism is needed now more than ever. Will you give today to double the impact of your donation?
Award-winning Journalism
In April, Limestone Post won 11 awards in the Society of Professional Journalists “Best in Indiana” Journalism Contest. LP contributors Steve Hinnefeld, Haley Miller, Christina Avery, Christine Brackenhoff, Steven Higgs, Michael G. Glab, Rebecca Hill, Jill Bond, Krista Detor, and Debora Shaw were among the winners.
Our collaboration with the WFHB News staff also took home second place for coverage of the housing crisis in the series Deep Dive: WFHB & Limestone Post Investigate. Overall, the Deep Dive series won six awards. Last year, the series was also got national recognition by being named a finalist for Journalism Collaboration of the Year in the 2023 Nonprofit News Awards.
Solutions Journalism
For the past nine years — and especially since we became a nonprofit in 2019 — our mission at Limestone Post has been to produce inclusive, in-depth articles on topics like housing, health, education, the environment, the arts, social justice, and other issues that impact our lives. We focus on solutions journalism — rigorous reporting that gives you not only more information on an issue but also what people and organizations are doing about it.
This is essential work — especially these days. We believe in the power of trustworthy journalism to combat disinformation, spark positive change, and strengthen our community. Our longtime readers know that Limestone Post serves a critical need, and it would not be possible without the support of people like you. With your help, we can do even more.
Supporting Local Contributors
Our largest expense is contributor fees. Your donation will help support local freelance writers, photographers, illustrators, and other creative talent for the time and effort they put into researching and producing comprehensive stories. Your donation will also help us keep our content free so that everyone in the community has access to fact-based news and information.
As an independent magazine, we’re unafraid and unapologetic in telling the stories about communities, issues, and solutions that might otherwise go untold. And when people have access to this information, they are emboldened to hold power to account, advance solutions, and work with one another to make a change.
As a nonprofit, we depend on readers like you to keep this critical work going. Your gift can make a real difference in our community.
During this giving season, a lot of worthy organizations are vying for your attention. Our work supports many of their causes by reporting on the issues they address. So we hope that, as a Limestone Post reader, you’ll demonstrate the value we add to your life and to our community by making a donation today.
