Deam Wilderness

Patton Cave Trail, June 1975 | In 1975, seven years before the Deam Wilderness was established by Congress, trails and campsites were used by a small population of hardcore hikers and backpackers and pets, like this Irish Setter, whose registered name was Lady Shannon of Hardin Ridge. This campsite on the Patton Cave Trail sits above the small cave’s opening.
