Chilling hours are the average number of hours, or a range of hours when air temperature is between 32° and 45° F during the winter season that are needed for normal tree development. From 1986 to 2016 the number of chilling hours fell by a range of 200 to 400 hours per winter. | Source mrcc.purdue.edu/VIP/indexChillHours.html
