Join us as we explore the art of the cocktail. Local bartenders will compete to be crowned the best in Bloomington by our panel of judges and you, the voting audience, as you sip to select BCT’s signature cocktail for 2016. Funds raised by this event will help to ensure diverse programming by local artists and presenters at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.
The Mix-Off: A Benefit for the Buskirk-Chumley Theater
Friday, October 23, 2015, at 5:30 p.m.
Buskirk-Chumley Theater
114. E. Kirkwood Ave.
Bloomington, IN 47408
This Year’s Competitors:

Andrew Wind, The Uptown Cafe
The Judges:
Lynae Sowinski, Editorial Director of Limestone Post Magazine
Sarah Murrell, Food Editor of NUVO Newsweekly

Tickets & Extras:
Your General Admission ticket provides you with:
• appetizers;
• four tastings of the batch cocktails made by the competing bartenders (1 of each submission plus a do-over of your favorite);
• a chance to vote for the best batch cocktail;
• access to the stage show, including the emcee stylings of Annie Corrigan, IU’s Full Frontal Comedy improv, cocktail challenges, and judge commentary.
Not tired yet? Ready to take it to the next level? Pick up the additional “Speakeasy” ticket to make like a judge and sample three signature cocktails submissions on the BCT stage, served by the competing bartenders.
Click here to purchase a General Admission Ticket AND a Speakeasy Ticket together. Theoretically, Speakeasy Tickets can also be purchased at the event, but they always sell out so we recommend advance purchase.
Named the designated driver, not yet 21, or just not interested in the drinks? A $10 “Mocktail Ticket” gives you access to all the food and fun (and we’ll even throw in a soft drink).
Purchase your ticket to the Mix-Off before noon on Thursday, October 22 and be entered to win a $20 BCT Box Office gift certificate, which can be used to purchase tickets to events at the BCT and across town.
How The Competition Works:
The winner is determined based on the preparation of three cocktails:
• “Batch cocktails” — served to all event attendees
• “Signature cocktails” — enjoyed by the judges and “Speakeasy” ticket-holders
• “Challenge cocktail” — a common cocktail, not revealed to the bartenders until the competition
Funds raised at the Mix-Off will support the programming of the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. Your participation will help to bring your favorite big-time artists to our small-town stage and ensure that local artists and organizations have the opportunity to present at our theater.
Mix-Off Sponsors:
A special thank you to Cardinal Spirits and Big Red Liquors for sponsoring this event and supporting the BCT’s mission.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the Mix-Off is expected to wrap up around 8 p.m.
