Beanblossom Bottoms Nature Preserve, April 2024—Wetlands hold and filter water for nutrients like phosphates and nitrates that otherwise would run off into Beanblossom Creek and the White River. Nutrients can cause algae blooms, which can choke off oxygen and make it difficult to impossible for marine life to exist.
